I had a meeting in Bangkok last week and had found a familiarity with taxis here as most of them are using NGV. They are colorful. They drives quite aggressive and fast too. They will speed up and ‘cilok’ whenever possible. One of the taxi that I took, had speed up to 150kmh.

And maybe because of the language barrier, most of them are very quiet while driving.

Other info on Bangkok taxis:-

1. Any taxis showing “I love Farang” (Thai for foreign) on the window is English speaking .  This means the driver has studied the taxi’s English course.

2. Toyota Corolla is Bangkok’s all time favorite taxi.  No other makers can match.

3. A taxi stand is not popular among Bangkokians.  Waving anywhere is still more their way.

4. The plate number is shown on the doors inside both in Thai and English for passenger’s tracking in case of lost and found.

5. Some frequent passengers believe the private yellow/green taxis are safe and service-minded because the owners are the drivers themselves.

Quite cute eh the color? Like candy some will say.
